L’Action de Grâce dans les bois / My Thanksgiving lost in the forests

Le week-end dernier, c’était Thanksgiving, ou l’Action de Grâce comme ils appellent ça en français. Fête familiale par excellence, j’en ai profité pour partir une dernière fois dans des parcs où je n’ai croisé que quelques aventureux qui fuyaient (probablement) leur famille.

When you have no family in the country to spend Thanksgiving with, what do you do? You go out and explore the Province! I headed to a Provincial Park where I met only a few adventurous spirits, or people who ran away from their families on this special weekend.

Le temps du dégel / Lakes are thawing, nature awakens

Le printemps est enfin là, les températures remontent et les lacs, eux, se libèrent des glaces tout doucement. Je vous emmène faire un tour sur les plages de la province pour voir ce paysage hors du commun.

Spring is here finally. The air is warmer and the lakes get free of the ice, slowly but steadily. Let me take you to some beaches to show you how this time of year can be surprisingly beautiful.

Le vieux barrage de Pinawa… en hiver / The old dam in Pinawa… covered by snow and ice

Je vous ai déjà montré à quoi ressemblait le vieux barrage de Pinawa, et été et à l’automne. Mais je n’y avais jamais été en hiver. C’est finalement chose faite, en bravant des températures inférieures à -40C, mais ça valait le coup!

I’ve already showed you how the old Pinawa Dam looks like in summer and in fall, but never in winter. It’s now fixed, and I endured under -40C temperatures to bring you some pictures of one of the nicest places in Manitoba.

L’automne encore et toujours / Fall forever

On est début octobre et l’été indien se prolonge. J’en ai donc profité pour retourner me promener dans des bois situés dans un parc provincial assez proche de Winnipeg. Résultat: une bonne après-midi, plein de couleurs et d’odeurs variées qui sont typiques de l’automne, et encore plus de photos à vous montrer!

October is here, and the Indian summer lasts longer than I expected. I took advantage of it and drove back to woods in a Provincial Park, not far from Winnipeg. In a nutshell: I have experienced an awesome afternoon, saw and smelt many odours which you can smell during fall only, and brought back many new pictures, just for you!

L’automne est enfin là! / Fall is back!

L’automne est enfin de retour! J’adore cette saison parce que c’est un excellent moment pour prendre, sans difficulté, de belles photos de la nature canadienne.

Finally! Fall is back again. All right, it’s not a surprise and it happens each year, but still… I like fall because you can take beautiful picture of the Canadian nature and wilderness.

Le plus grand rassemblement de serpents au monde est au Manitoba!

Le Manitoba regorge de trésors cachés et de choses uniques au monde. Parmi ces dernières, on note un phénomène assez exceptionnel… mais qui peut en rebuter certains.
